Up for a quick review today is the Chesty Puller Holster System made by Simply Rugged Holsters. The System is a leather harness that allows you to carry the Simply Rugged Pancake Holster in the chest position, commonly referred to as a “Tanker Holster.” The system was designed by the Maker, while living in Alaska, where he needed a powerful handgun while fishing and hunting. The system positions the holster high on the center of your torso, keeping it above water and brush, yet still allowing quick access.
I tried the system with a Large Smith and Wesson N Frame .41 Magnum Revolver. It carried the heavy revolver very well. While designed for open carry, it does conceal under a Winter coat. The system works with any Simply Rugged three belt slot holster. You just snap the leather tabs to your holster and you are ready to go. It comes with a belt attachment to help when you draw your handgun. It was quick and easy to put on, once you get the hang of it. There is also an adapter available to allow you to attach any conventional holster to the system. It is very high quality leather, just like their holsters. The system, without holster, retails for $70.00
