Portable Lighting – you probably already have one

So I’m walking around the urban homestead the other day and said, “jeez look at all the flashlights I have”. Time to collect and organize. All of the lights still work to some extent. The small white with blue band was the only one that didn’t light up. It looks like it runs off of those small coin batteries. I recommend shying away from these lights as I think coin type batteries will be near hard to find during and after an incident of major proportions. Here is a quick rundown of my favorites. LED is the way to go nowadays.

Collection of portable lighting.
This was a trade show give-away. In hindsight I should have gotten a handful. Hand crank rechargeable.
This is my EDC. LED, compact, super bright and a focusable beam. Love this light!
Adjustable light spread. This was a grocery store find. Very happy with the quality and price.
This rechargeable spot light is a harbor freight special. I originally bought six of these for a fishing trip to use as boat lights. Now it’s my go to household flashlight. These are five years old and still work great.

I added this one for pure nostalgia. These these kerosene lamps are awesome! They all seem to be made in China, but easily available at Walmart for around $6 but they need fuel, which I think, during a SHTF event might be available in some form, like refined vegetable oil or even car oil or something similar. All unproven at the moment.

These lights are everywhere now. Very gimmicky was my first impression, but after having this around since Christmas, I’m liking it more and more. The back has two mounting methods, screw mount and two magnets for attaching to metal, like a car hood, or garage door.

Super bright is an understatement. Super affordable and just kinda fun. Enjoy!
